The Privacy Policy for the Web Site addresses the treatment of information you submit on the Web Site, including information about yourself and Bid specifications you enter on the Web Site.

The Escambia County Tax Collector (Tax Collector) and Grant Street Group (Grant Street) will treat taxpayer identification numbers (which include both social security and employer identification numbers) and personal financial information including, for example, bank account information as confidential and will only use such information for the purposes for which it is being provided and to comply with any legal or regulatory requirements. (This kind of information is required for purposes of completing the online IRS Form W-9 and electronic payment authorization).  The security of this information depends on, among other things, the security of your computer and the network it may be on, the security you use to protect your confidential information, the security provided by your Internet access services provider, the security of the means of transmission of data through the Internet and, more generally, on the effectiveness of the security technologies that are used to protect your confidential information.  Although Tax Collector and Grant Street take reasonable security precautions regarding information transmitted to and stored on the Web Site, due to the open nature of the Internet Tax Collector and Grant Street cannot guarantee that any information stored on their servers, or transmitted to or from the Web Site, will be free from unauthorized access, and Tax Collector and Grant Street disclaim any liability for any theft or loss of, unauthorized access or damage to, or interception of any data or communications. By using the Web Site, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

Please note that Section 6109 of the Internal Revenue Code requires you to provide your correct social security number or taxpayer identification number to persons who must file information returns with the IRS to report interest, dividends, and certain other income paid to you.  The IRS uses the numbers for identification purposes and to help verify the accuracy of your tax return.  In addition, Federal Statute 42 U.S.C. Section 405(c)(2)(C)(i) and Florida Statute 119.071(5) govern and authorize the collection of this information by the Tax Collector.

This information will not be provided to third parties or other government agencies unless required by state or federal law.

With the exception of Minimum Acceptable Rates (MARs) entered on the Bid Page in auctions utilizing Proxy Bidding, all information entered on Web Site, as well as all computations based upon bids submitted, will be accessible to Tax Collector and registered users, and may be disclosed to third parties by Tax Collector pursuant to "right to know" or "freedom of information" requests.

Tax Collector does not have access to MARs entered by Users on the Bid Page, and consequently, Tax Collector will not be able to supply MARs pursuant to "right to know" or "freedom of information" requests. Grant Street will keep MARs confidential and will not divulge such information to third parties, including Tax Collector, unless mandated to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction.
